Julia Orebo 1945 – 2020

 

Julia Orebo, 74, entered her Heavenly Home on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Beaumont, Texas.

A celebration of life for Julia will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church, Beaumont, TX. A visitation will begin at 9:00 am until Funeral at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont, TX.

She was born August 31, 1945 to the late Albert Pitre Sr., and the late Leanna Pitre in Elton, Louisiana. The family moved to China, Texas where she attended and graduated from James H. Henderson High.

She was a lifelong member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Nome, Texas with over 55 years of service. Sister Orebo wore many hats, serving as the Church Secretary, Mission President, Choir member, Sunday school teacher and Installation Speaker. Sister Orebo was also a member of the Trinity Valley District Association.

Sister Orebo was employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont, Texas where she diligently worked for 37 years until her retirement in 2014.

Sister Orebo is preceded in death by her mother Leanna Pitre, father, Albert Pitre Sr., sister Rosa Anderson, nephew Michael Wayne Anderson, niece Rita A. Pitre and sister Louella Morris.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter, Darlene Bailey (Raymond) of Beaumont, TX., sons, Paul Pitre (Phaedra) of Phenix City, AL., and Wally Orebo (Kay) of Port Arthur, TX. Grandchildren, Rolanda Wimbley (Michael) of Beaumont, TX., Kalani Pitre of Albuquerque, New Mexico., LTJG Kaleel Pitre, US Navy, of San Diego, California., LTJG Isaiah Pitre, US Navy, of Yokosuka, Japan and Imani Pitre, of Savannah, Georgia. Two Great-Grandchildren, Brandon and Brianna Wimbley of Beaumont, Texas. Sisters, Shirley Guidry (Clarence) of Beaumont, Texas and Mary Jane Belton of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Brothers, Isaac Pitre (Ronnie) of Avondale, Arizona., Albert Pitre (Dianne) of Winnie, Texas., Joseph Pitre (Audrey) of Beaumont, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Special acknowledgment to Beaumont Texas Home Health, Jefferson County Home Health, Jonathan Batiste and Nathan Allums.

Sister Orebo was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
